Any individual operating a vehicle equipped with an air brake system or an air-over-hydraulic brake system must hold a Z endorsement on their driver’s license as a mandatory requirement.
Ontario Road Safety Association’s Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Course employs a comprehensive instructional approach, utilizing the Tell–Show–Do method to enhance practical learning.
Our presentation slides cover all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) prerequisites and include visual aids for each required topic. Tailored to adult learners, this course encourages class discussions to facilitate the sharing of everyone’s experiences. Incorporating instructional videos for clarity and understanding.
This 2-Day Air Brake or ‘Z’ Endorsement Course, held from 8 am to 4 pm, provides comprehensive instruction on the operation of the air brake system. Participants will gain knowledge about the system’s components, learn how to effectively operate it, and acquire the ability to identify defects.
Throughout the duration of this 2-Day course, participants will undergo both written and practical Air Brake testing. Successful completion of the course will enable participants to have the ‘Z’ Endorsement added to their driver’s license within 5 business days. To add the Z endorsement to your license, please visit a nearby DriveTest center within 6 months of completing the course.
